The Katmobile

Right up front, I want to say that I did fix the movie problem! The URL to see it is here:

Not too bad. I still see things I could improve on. I have 2 new movies buzzing around in my head, so still be prepared!

Other good news, we recently bought a new vehicle for our long drive to the Rockies! Mom insisted on naming it, so we settled on The Batmobile. I loved the name, until Katelyn stated that she hated the name and officially changed the name to The Katmobile. I am most certainly not a fan of the name, but there's nothing I can do about it.

In my head I call it The Batmobile.

The school recently held it's last band concert of the year! Here's the video of my favorite song that we performed that night.

Until next time,

Mother's Day

I'm going to start this post out on a rather negative note. Every time I attempt to upload the video to blogger, it finishes then deletes itself. Once the problem is fixed (Which I may or may not have a solution to), I'll upload it then. In the meantime, Happy Mother's Day!

To start this post off, in my last one I stated that "I have something really fun planned for the weekend". Well, we went to Chicago and slept overnight in the Field Museum! We did this before with the Museum of Science and Industry last year, and we enjoyed it so much, we did it this year! Basically, we haul all of our stuff to the museum, unpack them somewhere, hang out at the museum 'til midnight, then go to sleep. I included a few pictures to help you get a better understanding.

A part of my mom's childhood, it's now part of Katelyn's. Mold-A-Rama.

We're all wearing matching shirts we bought here in our pajamas.

Katelyn is examining the most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex in the world, Sue.

Our spot to sleep in was the bird section.

Also, this Mother's day was pretty relaxed. Didn't do much. Of course mom got presents and a breakfast of banana cake, but other than that, it was pretty low key.

Until next post,

Minor Complications

Yeah, we've had some very minor complications getting today's blog post ready. It contained a movie file. No worries. With a little luck, we'll have it all set for tomorrow. Just hang tight. I have something really fun planned for the weekend and I'll probably blog more about that this coming Saturday or Sunday. Also, happy Cinco De Mayo!

May Poll of the Month - High School

Yes, I added May's Poll of the Month. The question is "What was your favorite thing about high school?". I found this to be an appropriate question due to the fact that next year, I'm going to Uni! I've made up my mind and I will be a subfreshman at University Laboratory High School next year. We just finished applying last night, and once I get those in, I'll be all set to go for next year. I plan to participate in both track and cross country, but luckily one is in fall and the other in spring. In addition, I will have a blog post tomorrow too, and most likely one the next day, so keep an eye out!

Pen + Pencil + Rubber band + Duct Tape = Crossbow?

I can't even keep a short term goal as simple as making a blog post four days in a row. At least I have one today, with some pretty interesting stuff. First off, a few weeks ago I finally got around to using the book my mom got for me; "Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction", and built a crossbow out of a pen, it's casing, a pencil, a rubber band, and duct tape. If you can't seem to visualize it, I included a helpful picture.

It has a beautiful range of 20 - 25 feet. The only reason I haven't blogged about this before now is that I fired it earlier and the rubber band snapped. Only once I replaced it did I decide to blog about it. It's ammo is the inside of a pen, the part with the ink. I had to duct tape the tip to keep ink from splattering all over the walls!

I decided not to make this next part the title in order to make sure I didn't give anything away, but I'm sure at least a few of the readers of this already know. After taking the SSAT (secondary school admission test) a grand total of four times, I finally got into Uni High (University Laboratory High School)! In addition, I'm seriously thinking about going as a sub-freshman. Because this is such a great school to be in, I've made it my personal goal to work harder. Starting now, I'm going to try to update the blog more frequently as well as cutting down on my computer games. On Wednesday I'm going to go and check the place out. Meaning I arrive at eight and leave at four. School hours. Wish me luck!

Perdido

Funny how my last post was a day less than a month after the one before that, and this post is a month and one day after my last post. But seriously, I've been dying to do a blog post for quite a while now. The only problem is I had no footage of my new helicopter that I bought. I still don't. But yes, I did buy a tiny remote controlled helicopter pretty much just for fun. I fly it around and no matter how hard it crashes, it almost never breaks. When I say almost I mean something finally did go wrong with it by the time I ran it into the wall for the thousandth time. I haven't really picked it up since. We plan to get it fixed Monday.

Not a lot has happened since my last post surprisingly enough. I did perform a couple of times since then, so I decided to add a video of one of our jazz band songs, my personal favorite, Perdido! I have no solo in here, but you'll live.

I try to never do a blog post that doesn't have pictures or video in it.

Yeah, for this 4 day weekend I plan to do a blog post every day, because actually, it's pretty fun. McKinley is certainly better at keeping up with her blog though. Rock on!

Finally, the results of the last poll have been sitting there for nearly 2 months. I decided to take them down hoping you've seen them already. I do plan to put up May's poll of the month in time. Happy blogging!

Feb 23rd thru March 21st

It's been nearly one month since my last post so I'm going to try to get you as up to speed as I can. First of all, a couple fridays ago we went to the Engineering Open House. I haven't missed it once that I can remember so I skipped a full day of school for it. My favorite has always been the robot wars where the college students have to design robots to perform a specific task competing against other robots in an arena. Very fun.

I captured this screenshot of a (semi) controlled fire that they showed us. the smoke literally blocked out the sun.

Also not too long ago was our second tumbling meet. Katelyn earned two ninth place trophies. Neither of us did very well. I got second . . . out of two and Katelyn also got last, but it was an okay day. I included a picture of Katelyn but not one of me because those uniforms are even shorter than a singlet and watching the video recording back, I look kinda dorky. Really dorky.

I think cross country is going to just be my main sport.

Katelyn's birthday was on the 17th! Yay! She turned eight years old and had a birthday party at skateland with her best friend (my best friend's sister), Ella. For some reason it wouldn't rotate this picture, so oh well.

All three of us had a lot of fun. I got a bit lonely but still had fun zooming past the girls.

Non real life, in the world of Minecraft, I've been getting bored and constructing some crazy things. I combined note blocks (plays one note of your choosing at a time), redstone (the equivalent of a wire used in creating logic boards), and delayers (attaches to redstone to pause the circuit temporarily) to make the theme songs of Super Mario, Jeapordy, and Harry Potter. Each took me at least a half hour. Pretty nice.

By the way, spring break just started for us and Mom and Katelyn have been hanging out in Chicago so Dad and I have the house all to ourselves. Yeah! We watched the Incredible Hulk last night while eating a box of ice cream.
